We are very excited to be able to share the full details of the MCC Junior Academy for 2026 in preparation for this winter season.
Term 1 MCC Hockey Academy is being extended beyond the traditional weekly evening of training. The 2026 Academy is aimed at focusing on the following to support our juniors:
- Preparing our juniors for the season ahead by developing their hockey skills
- Supporting our U10’s transitioning to U12s
- Introducing new players to hockey and supporting them to play the season ahead

Academy: Holiday Program
Three jam packed days filled with skills, drills, mental performance coaching and plenty of fun.
Who: U8s – U18s
Existing players: Build on core skills and be introduced to more advanced techniques
New players: Learn the basics and develop the skills needed to continue into the 2026 winter season
Cost: MCC player $250 for 3 days and NON-MCC player $300 for 3 days (can by a single day pass if needed)
Date: Wed 15th, Thurs 16th & Fri 17th April
Time: 9:00am-3pm, arrive 8:45am

Academy: Monday Night- Coaching Series
Will have a broad hockey focus. They will also cater for new players wanting to try hockey before the winter season.

Academy: Tuesday Night- Master Class Skills
Will be more skill-specific and focus on 1 skill per session.
For U12 – U18 players with hockey experience who want to work on a specific skill set. Build on core skills and introduce more advanced skills for the more experienced players.

Kids Got Game U12, U14 & U16’s
These sessions are for girls & boys who are new to hockey. They will be fun, light and an intro to hockey, to build our junior girls’ sections.

Academy: Friday Night- JSC Preparation Program
Junior State Championships (JSC) is the pinnacle Junior hockey event in Victoria, with teams competing across the Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 Boys & Girls divisions. The event has been running for well over ten years in its current format and is a highlight in the Victorian Hockey calendar each year.
It is a great opportunity for our members and we would encourage all those keen to be considered to nominate themselves for the trials. The perfect way to develop your hockey skills and build friendships across the hockey community.

MCC will be running sessions specially focused on helping our juniors prepare for JSC trials.
