U10 FLAMES COMPETITION
This is the equivalent of Game On! for children 8 to 9 years.
Our Flames quarter field program is a child’s first experience within a modified competition format, allowing children to develop their skills through small sided team games. It is the bridging program from Hookin2Hockey to competition club hockey.
Irrespective of whether a child has progressed through other Hookin2Hockey programs, our Flames quarter field program allows further development of fundamental hockey skills, as well as game based learning and teamwork through modified matches.
At MCC Hockey Club the Flames quarter field program season aligns with the Hockey Victoria junior competitions; commencing in late April/early May and gives us the opportunity to combine training and competition for children within this age and ability group. Games are played on Saturday mornings against teams in the inner city ‘Flames’ region.
Our Flames quarter field training & matches will be a combination of skill development and small sided games conducted in a safe and friendly environment with an emphasis on fun.
Please note that participation in our Flames quarter field program is encouraged and preferred before a child is considered for selection in Hockey Victoria Under 12 competition teams.
Two steps required:
1. MCC Hockey Registration
2. Once you have completed your MCC Hockey registration you will be prompted to register with Hockey Victoria (via Hockey Australia site).
You must register with MCC Hockey and Hockey Victoria.
