Return to hockey

HV have advised that they will develop an extended Term 4 2020 summer hockey offering – subject to restrictions easing – and we are keen for as much club participation as possible.

HV are currently looking at:

– 8 week, 11-a-side, graded competitions offering opportunities for players to represent their clubs at their level of ability and playing standards
– Commencement on Friday 16 October and end by Monday 14 December
– Includes finals – yet to determine the format
– Monday/Wednesday/Thursday – venue-based competitions with up to 6 teams per hub – Juniors, Masters and Pennant/Metro levels
– Fridays – home and away club first teams competition with up to 6 teams in pools per competition grade (i.e. Premier League level may have 3 pools of 6 teams)

We had a great response from members ready to play before we went into lock down again, so we hope we can rekindle teams across the club for this. With MHS (our main ground) and also Elwood available we will try to offer members as many opportunities as possible to play.

More details will be available likely late August following consultation with clubs and subject to restrictions easing – we will then open an expression of interest process so we can enter the right number of teams.
