Dear members,
Given this afternoon’s announcement on another snap lockdown for metropolitan Melbourne (to commence at 11.59pm tonight), the MCC Hockey Committee have taken the decision to cancel all scheduled hockey activities effective immediately – there will be no training for any teams tonight and both MHS and Elwood grounds will be closed to all members until further notice.
Though some may have wished to train tonight, ultimately we feel that any group activities held under the current circumstances increase the risk of further exposure, regardless of when exactly lockdown restrictions come into place.
As previously, we will await word from Hockey Victoria and the relevant health authorities on when and how we can proceed with hockey activities again. We hope that is next week.
