Young Dees at the Junior State Championships

Over the July school holidays, the Junior State Championships were held in Bendigo (Girls) and Shepparton (Boys) with MCC being well represented as part of the Central metro Flames region.

Congratulations to the following MCC representatives for their efforts and contribution over the tournament, and in particular for braving the Artic like conditions!

Player representatives:

U13 Boys: Campbell Pattison, Milo Elliott, Luca Stranges and Jack Weller
U13 Girls: Maisie Weller and Gemma Legg
U15 Boys: Liam McCashin, Jayd Sherborne, Jack Wilson, Lachie Hodgson, Logan Bell, Xavier Naylor, Angus Curnow, Adam Schwarz, Thomas Weller, and Toby Brown. Note, Duncan Jackson and Campbell Evans represented North-West Lightening.
U15 Girls: Saskia Paice, Charlotte Balster, Thais Murray, and Anna McLeary. Note, Charlotte Armstead represented Western Metro Wildcats.
U18 Boys: Thomas Wilson, Thomas Picking, Thomas Love, and Teddy Stewart
U18 Girls: Phoebe Russell, Samantha Love, Katie Leishman, and Charlotte Hodgson

Coaches:

Isabelle Blair Holt (U13 Boys Coach and U15 Boys Assistant Coach) and Caleb Hounihan (U15 Boys Coach and U13 Boys Assistant Coach). Charlie Hamilton (U18s Girls Coach, Jack Morisson (U18 Girls Assistant Coach), Charles Fox (U18 Boys Assistant Coach).

Team Managers:

Belinda Leishman, Lisa Balster, Krystle Sherborne, Sam Truscott, Hugh Hamilton.

Umpires:

Lachie Hodgson (13 Boys Gold medal match Umpire), Antoine Hobbs (U13 Girls Gold Medal match Umpire) and Jai Brown (Boys Umpire manager).

Final standings for all Central Flames region teams were as follows: 

U13 Boys – 4th (penalty shoot out for third place)
U13 Girls – Silver Medal
U15 Boys – Bronze Medal
U15 Girls – Silver Medal
U18 Boys – Silver Medal
U18 Girls – Silver Medal
